Today's featured Etsy shop... Grandma's Wallflower

My name is Haley and my Etsy shop is Grandma's Wallflower.

When did you start your Etsy shop?
I opened my shop Jan 21, 2014

What is the story behind your business name?
When I was a little girl I enjoyed sewing and crafting with my grandmother. It was a fun experience for me. I thought that I was an odd child until I realized that my creativity and desire to create is fun. I'm in college now and I wanted to bring back pieces of my childhood that I had forgotten and use the creativity I have to make new things for people.

What do you sell?
I sell bracelets.

How did you get into your craft?
I actually got into making bracelets because I was sewing a dress. There were some left over fabric scraps and I tied them to make a bracelet. I loved the style it was simple but with an air of chic. I kept making them until I had them ready for others.

Anything else you would like to share?
I love crafting. I think it's so much fun and kind of important to who I am.

Today's featured Etsy shop... Paper Kite Creations

My name is Shalane and my Etsy shop is Paper Kite Creations.

When did you start your Etsy shop?
April 2013

What is the story behind your business name?
It was inspired by a butterfly (Paper Kite) that originates in Southeast Asia. The symbolism of the butterfly being around growth, change and freedom is similar to my process of an artist. It also doesn't hurt that I really love butterflies!

What do you sell?
I sell one of a kind jewellery and jewellery-related products. I handcraft each piece to be as individual as the person that will one day wear them. I believe it is incredibly important for each of us to accept who we are and stop trying to be something we are not - I hope that my pieces of jewellery inspire women to do just that. It is that belief that helped form my tagline of "Be True. Be You."

How did you get into your craft?
I have been making jewellery since I was about 7 or 8 and ironically chose to start off with seed beads as my preference -- the big pony beads bored me I guess! I used to actually sell my work when I was a child in school - beaded geckos were all the rage back then and I happened to know hot to make them. Since then my art has developed and changed over the years, giving me a love of painting, photography, sewing and crocheting. Paper Kite Creations has brought me around full circle to be working primarily with jewellery again.

Anything else you would like to share?
I hope you enjoy my work! I also love to do custom work, so please get in touch so we can chat about your ideas! If you want to connect with me outside of Etsy, check out:

Today's featured Etsy shop... Emma Wyatt Art

Hi, my names Emma and I'm the owner and creative person behind Emma Wyatt Art. I make and sell wire wrapped jewellery as well as taking fine art commissions although the later has been put on the back burner lately due to surgery on my hand earlier this year.

Before Etsy I worked as a graphic designer for 12 years in a large publishing studio, you name it and we did it! I’ve also spent the last few years attending craft shows with my pencil art and meeting lots of interesting people!

Growing up I have always been interested in making and drawing, so much so that I went on to study art for 5 years after leaving school. Towards the end of my time at Art College I spent 2 years studying surface pattern and working with fabric.

When I was made redundant in 2012 I started making wire jewellery as a hobby and I love weaving with it and creating patterns and structure. I started taking my work to fairs and it gained more and more attention, so much so that it started taking over from my art work.

My designs start not with the wire but with the stones I’m using. I prefer to use gemstones because they are all unique, tactile and have been on such a long journey before they come to me. Often I start a design and just see where the wire takes me; it’s the most fun part of what I do. I’ve recently been dabbling with precious metal clay and I love the idea of having a wire and metal clay fusion.

I’m still quite a new shop on Etsy but its growing and I’m excited to see where the adventure will take me.

You can visit my shop on Etsy, Facebook, and on deviantARTThanks for taking an interest!

Today's featured Etsy shop... Rose Manor Gifts and Art

My name is Betty and my Etsy shop is Rose Manor Gifts and Art

When did you start your Etsy shop?

Oct. 31, 2012

What is the story behind your business name?

I wanted to choose a name to reflect the type of items that I create and I decided, after much reflection, that I create mostly gift items and many of those are created from my original photographs and my own hand painting. Thus Rose Manor Gifts and Art was born.

What do you sell?
I sell many different types of designs as I am always thinking of new ideas that I want to try and see if I can "make happen". Art Trays, Handpainted Crystal, Women's Jewelry, Children's Jewelry, Handpainted Hats are a few. One very special design series that I have created, is called "Sentimental Journeys" This collection has over 60 original designs. Each design has been created around a 100-year-old postcard where I fuse the postcard's original art with my own painting. This enhances and enlarges the design as it spills out and over its border. Special frames are chosen to complement each design.

How did you get into your craft?
I have been crafting about 10 years when I made the first "Sentimental Journeys" design. That is when I started to visual the concept of the collection. Everything else has evolved from there and continues to with new ideas all the time.

Anything else you would like to share?
With my crafts and my Etsy shop, I have discovered and found many things. The most important to me are the joy of creativity and the blessing of new friends found.
