My name is Kelly and my Etsy shop is Sweet Tater Design.
When did you start your Etsy shop?
I am new to Etsy, having just started my shop in January. I probably should have started a shop a long time ago, but, well, here I am.
What is the story behind your business name? Sweet Tater is a nickname that my great-grandfather used to call me. (It's short for sweet potato.) I don't really know where it came from or why exactly he called me that, but I love it because he did. Since I like to do lots of different things, I didn't want a name that would limit me to a certain type of item. Sweet Tater Design leaves things nice and open so I can do whatever inspires me.
What do you sell?
I sell a variety of things, with more to come! Right now, my favorite thing that I'm selling these wonderful jewelry holders made from upcycled picture frames. I also have a variety of wine charms, a few jewelry pieces for fun. some printed cards, and a cool infographic poster I designed about mixology to be listed presently.
How did you get into your craft?
I've always been immersed in making things, ever since ever. I have such a variety of interests, so I always "hop" around between mediums. For me, it's the idea that is the most important thing--the medium is just the way to get there.
Anything else you would like to share?
I've always had many interests when it comes to making art. I really live working with my hands, and I enjoy creating functional pieces that are visually beautiful and hopefully brighten up someone else's day. We'll see where it takes me--thank you for your support! :)
