My name is Wendi and my Etsy shop is Couch Potato Collection.

When did you start your Etsy shop?

We launched it in Nov 2013.

What is the story behind your business name?

We have a greyhound.This breed are often referred to as The fastest Couch Potatoes in the World. She was the reason behind the start of our company in the first place - it seemed only fit to give her the credit!

What do you sell?

We sell Hand Knit Dog Sweaters On Etsy & also hand painted wooden pieces with a dog/cat theme at local markets etc.

How did you get into your craft? 

We lived in Florida & were going on a camping trip to The Smokey Mountains in NC in October. Our greyhound needed a cozy sweater. We searched high & low & could find nothing that suit her size (with the big greyhound chest). Everything had velcro (which she is scared of) or was not great quality - made in China. Emily's mother is a wizard with her knitting needles & so she offered to make her a cozy sweater. As soon as we put it on her & saw how pretty & warm she looked - it clicked! We figured if we had not had any luck finding a sweater then others must be the same. We quickly learned to knit and voila... the birth of our Couch Potato Collection!

We hand knit cozy, comfy & very adorable Dog Sweaters for all shapes,sizes & breeds. Our line is not only cute & very warm but also well made & easy to wash & dry. We also take custom orders to ensure the perfect fit for your pup. It is SO important to keep your dog warm on these chilly days & bitter Winter nights. We figure they might as well be looking stylish at the same time
